Thirty – nine Boko Haram terrorists were killed by troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MJTF) and many equipment was captured, an official said.
In the battle, about 20 soldiers were injured, too.
The MNJTF is the Nigerian and its neighboring countries ‘ coalition of soldiers in the north – east, including Chad, Cameroon and Niger.
It was mainly created to address Boko Haram and other forms of neighborhood criminal activity.
In the statement made available to reporters in Abuja on Wednesday, Timothy Antigha, the spokesman of the Task Force, confirmed the battle.
Nigerian Colonel Mr. Antigha said the terrorists were killed on Tuesday when attacking the Kaura Cross position.
He said the injured soldiers had been evacuated and now received adequate medical care.
Despite military efforts, the attacks in Boko Haram have continued in Northeast Nigeria since 2009.
