You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team to fulfill the role of
leading our equipment operators in the delivery of unique operational
activities related to residuals management. These activities include forest and
agricultural fertilization, land reclamation, and soil mixing. You have a

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Environmental Services Team Leader, you will play an integral role
within the organization. You will be involved in a wide range of projects with
emphasis on the following:
• Collaborate in planning, budgeting, implementing and completing operational
projects
• Assist in hiring and managing equipment operators (full-time, seasonal and/or
contract employees) and provide training and supervision
• Enforce site safety protocols and follow all environmental protocols
• Coordinate and track equipment maintenance, upgrades and purchases
• Conduct maintenance of SYLVIS-owned equipment as required (i.e. wheel
loaders, tractors, manure spreaders) and coordinate repairs
• Coordinate equipment rentals and develop contacts with local contractors /
suppliers
• Procure and supervise sub-contractors as required
• Liaise with Project Managers and Qualified Professionals to deliver projects
that meet objectives and are regulatory compliant
Qualifications
• Ten years operating agricultural, forestry and/or construction heavy
equipment
(i.e. wheel loader, tractor, manure spreader, ADT, excavator)
• Five years managing people in the successful completion of operational
projects
• Diverse knowledge of heavy equipment including trouble shooting and
maintenance
• Experience in project cost estimating
• Exceptional communication skills, including while working remotely
• Physically fit and ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to travel and work alone (valid drivers license)
• Must have experience in one of the following industries: agriculture, construction,
forestry or land reclamation (experience in multiple industries considered an
asset)
• Must be willing to learn about residuals management and implement best
management practices
• Educational background in agriculture, environment, forestry, or construction
considered an asset

This position is based at our New Westminster, BC office and requires frequent
travel to client’s sites throughout Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest.
