• To ensure that SCB Ghana’s direct and indirect tax liabilities are reported correctly in accordance with applicable laws / accounting standards and settled on time
• Provide tax services to business heads
• Update and implement tax strategies to facilitate lowering of effective tax rates
• Responding to ad-hoc queries and requests for tax advice
Key Roles:
• Manage the tax compliance process and create value through optimizing claims to reliefs, etc
• Drive successful implementation of tax saving initiatives developed by regional tax
• Accuracy of taxation features incorporated in country addenda for products and PARs for assigned projects
• Accuracy & timeliness of external SCB Ghana tax reporting
• Maintain SCB Ghana tax records as required by fiscal authorities
• Manage tax disputes, audits and enquiries
• Ensure tax advice given is correctly reflected in tax returns and external reporting
• Maintain permanent file of notes regarding issues affecting the tax return or external reporting
• Create standard list of filing optimizations & capture & make available to team / corporate memory
• Contribute to Group high value project team initiatives

Required Skills or Experience
• Relevant tax law or accounting qualification
• At least 3-4 years corporate tax experience
• Tax Supervisor level
• Sound knowledge of Ghana tax law and practice
• Good research and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a ready appreciation of business issues
• Ability to build and maintain good working relationships
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated, capable of working without close supervision
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS-Office)
