Spark Young Enterprise Business Intern Job Vacancy in Rwanda

For our enterprise development programme SPARK is
looking for an intern who will help to develop the entrepreneurship clubs
within our university partners to develop a system to develop practical and innovative
entrepreneurship training.

Through their respective business start up centre
and incubators, SPARK partners are introducing a “Young Enterprise” Programme,
an inspirational six-month journey as a real start – up business that supports
students to gain practical experience of planning and managing a trading
business. The purpose is to develop the pipeline of entrepreneurs coming
through to business plan competitions, promote practical and experiential
knowledge of entrepreneurship amongst students and to motivate the next
generation of entrepreneurs in Rwanda.
We are looking for a dynamic volunteer who will
consultatively develop the curriculum to be followed by the young enterprise
clubs, in addition to helping to following a few of the clubs through the
process and adapt the training material accordingly for wider roll-out. Thus
the ideal duration of this internship would be 8 months,
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Phase I (6 weeks) Curriculum and resource
development which, in 12 sessions, takes participants through the process of
business set-up and management including establish legal framework, raise
finance for their venture by selling shares, open and manage their own business
bank account, carry out market research, work together to create their business
plan, develop their own product or service, market and promote their product or
service, trade with the public, manage their company finances, have
opportunities to network and trade with other companies across the Rwanda and
the region. Phase 2 (8 weeks) Test the materials. Pilot phase with one
institutions running the sessions and modifying accordingly. Train and support
the facilitators of the programme in conjunction with SPARK staff. Phase 3
(ideally 12+weeks) roll out and quality management. Finalise the design program
process and facilitation guidelines. Work jointly with the facilitators at
three different institutions to roll out the training material and suppor the
facilitation of the programme.
Skills:
Knowledge and experience of the business
development sector Experience working with youth or entrepreneurship clubs
essential. At least a BA level in a relevant subject, ideally a MA. Competency
in team work, problem solving, result oriented, flexibility and
entrepreneurial. Experience working in the private sector is a distinct
advantage; Experience in training and facilitation a distinct advantage;
Political and cultural sensitivity; Good communication and social skill and the
ability to (net)work in multicultural settings; Good verbal and written
language skills of English. Knowledge of French is an advantage Flexibility to
travel frequently; Proven programme development and acquisition track record a
distinct advantage;

Monthly allowance of €400 gross per month (full time). Travel to Rwanda and
