Based in Nairobi at a leading University, the Security Manager will
report to the University Director of Administration and be responsible for the
management and delivery of round-the-clock physical security and safety needs
of the university on behalf of Senaca EA.
The Primary Duties of this role will include:
- Manage all
aspects of physical security. Design, plan; propose, implement, manage,
monitor and improve all elements of security including physical guarding,
access control, surveillance systems, etc. - Formulate and
continuously review safety policies, processes and procedures pertaining
to university security and students safety, - Undertake
periodic fire drills, security sweeps, penetration tests, intruder
detection and alarm response tests. - Investigate,
follow-up and resolve security issues/cases affecting University
property/equipment, staff or documents. - Produce
security updates and reports. - Assist
University staff, through liaison with law enforcement agencies, on
resolution of matters that require such intervention. - Liaise with
law enforcement agencies and sensitize University staff on general
insecurity trends, personal/residential security awareness. - Coordinate
security awareness briefs to all University staff and oversee contracted
security services providers

- Experience in
security management in a busy organization with multiple facilities and
offices. - Knowledge of
Kenyan laws and government regulations pertaining to law enforcement. - Good
leadership and supervisory skills, highly organized, paying close
attention to detail. - Demonstrate
the ability to work independently, under
pressure, and ensure timely coordination and delivery of demanding
priorities. - Demonstrate
the ability to liaise and deal sensitively with people at all levels of an
organization in a variety of contexts. - Have
well-developed communication (written/verbal), presentation, interpersonal
and facilitation skills - Have a track
record of consistent achievement of performance targets. - Diploma in
Security Management/Administration or any technical/business discipline
would be an added advantage
