educate and empower underserved communities in Malaysia.
We have immediate
openings for highly-motivated, passionate people to teach English and empower
underprivileged communities in urban and rural areas throughout Malaysia. As a
Community Development Officer, you will be helping to administer our Community
Centers Program by t
eaching English, managing a learning center, and
coordinating community development projects and activities in one of our many
locations nationwide.
The Community
Centers Program aims to teach basic communicative English and help build
English speaking confidence among underprivileged people while helping to
empower communities through community development initiatives and nonformal
education.

Key Tasks:
Teaching
- Be able
to teach and follow the SOLS 24/7 English methodology, curriculum and
syllabus, Basic IT and Character Development - Build
English speaking ability and confidence in community students - Prepare
lesson plans in advance of each class - Manage
the classroom and ensure students are engaged and actively participate in
lessons and classroom activities - Build
personal relationships with students and help provide guidance during
their participation in the program
Administration
- Coordinate,
track and report the assessment of the English progress of the students - Be able
to manage the day-to-day activities of operating a learning center to
include administration and reporting (attendance reports, accounting,
progress reports) - Provide
updates to SOLS 24/7 Malaysia HQ departments and maintain communication
with management - Prepare
and submit a monthly center report to the SOLS 24/7 Malaysia Headquarters
Community
Engagement/Recruitment
- Be able
to engage, recruit and maintain student participation in the program, from
enrollment through graduation - Liaise
and work with local community leaders in the development and coordination
of community-driven activities and projects - Engage
and maintain good relationships with local NGOs and institutions to
promote and foster unity and sustainability in the community - Involve
the community in activities such as sports, community work, community
clean-ups, and other relevant program - Participate
in formal and nonformal functions of the community

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s
Degree - Passionate
about teaching English, education, community development, social
empowerment, and poverty alleviation and helping underprivileged people - High
English proficiency/native English speakers - Relevant
work experience as well as leadership and management skills - Keen to
further improve her/his personal and professional development skills by
stepping out of her/his comfort zone and challenging themselves - Good
communication skills and ability to communicate with people of different
cultures and religions

No English teaching certification or prior training is necessary or needed.
SOLS 24/7 has developed its own teaching methodology, program and system and
thus you will be trained in the SOLS 24/7 system of teaching English.
