to get ‘more children reading more and better books’. In particular, the
Initiative aims to increase the availability of high quality Kinyarwanda books
in the country and create a national culture of reading.

Consultant is expected to provide the following outcomes as per the detailed
ToR attached, and the Consultant’s proposal:

- Provide
capacity building opportunities to book sellers and publishers
- Delivering
a training targeting specific skill development such as understanding the
mechanisms of the book chain, children’s book publishing, publishing
management, managing a bookshop, best approaches of book distribution,
production-demand relationship, use of professional network, digital
marketing, copyright, tax laws and marketing - Develop
and finalize the outline of the training - Develop
a book selling and book distribution curriculum.
Methodology
- The
consultancy will involve training development and curriculum. Each of
these sessions will be documented in a brief report describing the work
undertaken and the progress or challenges encountered. - The
reference point within SCI will be the RCBI manager with expected
collaboration with RCBI Coordinator and the RCBI Book Development Officer.

- Degree
in librarianship, literature or publishing and similar disciplines - Experience
in managing book shops and libraries - Proven
experience delivering trainings to book sellers and publishers - Knowledge
of Save the Children and it’s internal processes will be beneficial but is
not essential - Knowledge
about the Rwandan book industry
