The sample size for the study was one hundred (100)
respondents. The stratified sampling technique was used to divide Ughelli
metropolis into five strata and in each stratum, the accidental sampling
technique was used to select 20 respondents. 100 sample size was obtained from
the five (5) strata that was used for the study. Accidental sampling technique is
a type of non-probability sampling technique that is based on the judgement of the
researcher based on availability and proximity of the respondents available at
a particular period of time (Boxill,
Chambers & Wint, 2007). In using this method, the researcher
selected people that were available in the study area who were willing to respond
