established in 2002 is the National Carrier for the Republic of Rwanda.
RwandAir mission statement is “to provide unsurpassed, safe and reliable
services in air transportation, including strategically linking Rwanda with the
outside world, while ensuring a fair return on investment.” The majority share
holding of the company is the Government of Rwanda.

RwandAir is
interested in hiring hands-on industry expert to fill a leadership position at
Rwandair in order to support management at all levels in realizing its Vision
and Mission. The successful candidates will for the period of one year
renewable, under the direct supervision of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer
to ensure a well and professionally run airline that will ensure safe and
reliable services while ensuring a fair return on investment. .

Key tasks:

  • Set the
    commercial strategy for Rwandair i.e. the customer proposition, revenue
    target and deployment of the key commercial levers to meet this objective:
    sales and distribution, marketing, network, pricing and revenue
    management, and cargo;
  • Develop
    a clear and constant awareness of customer needs.
  • Develop
    and monitor the demand picture that drives the 5 Year strategic plan
    including network and fleet growth,
  • Establish
    cross functional working processes with finance, HR and operations on
    business processes that require multi departmental involvement such as
    product, * , new market entry etc.
  • Maintain
    a constant awareness of competitor activities
  • Identify
    new business opportunities e.g. ancillary revenue, code sharing etc.
  • Manage
    and motivate the commercial team to ensure efficient service delivery
  • Recruit
    key staff that are missing and appoint vendors to meet strategic skills
    that are otherwise missing from the business.
  • Ensure
    consistency within company’s branding and marketing mix, especially PR and
    the Internet and appreciating its continuity;
  • Ensuring
    excellent levels of customer satisfaction through working closely with the
    operational teams.

Required
Education & Experience

  • Past
    record of outstanding performance in similar position in an airline for a
    period of Minimum 12-15 years.
  • Leadership
    experience in Sales, Commercial Planning and Marketing is desirable.
  • Bachelor
    or master degree in Business Administration, Economics or Marketing.
