EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Terms of Reference
1. Coordinate the activities of the Rwanda Journalists Association (ARJ) and
the Press House (MPH)
2. Closely follow up on the ongoing media reforms in collaboration with Rwanda
Governance Board
3. Act as the liaison between the members of the association and stake holders
as well as partners
4. Coordinate the activities leading to the establishment of the Media self
regulatory body
5. Act as the administrator of the Office where the two organizations operate
from
6. Represent the associations at meetings, events and other areas deemed
necessary
7. Contribute towards improving the welfare of journalists and promotion of
press freedom and professional standards.
8. Follow up on the implementation of the Association’ action plan
9. Build and maintain relationships between the associations and the public,
business community government departments/foreign missions/ International NGOs
and parastatals
10. Develop and maintain networks with local, regional and international media
associations
11. Manage the perception/image of the association as independent, professional
and reliable
12. Produce periodical reports at official meetings convened by ARJ
13. Any other activities as assigned by Heads of Committee for ARJ.
Profile of ideal candidate
1. Two years experience in working with the media
2. Ability to work independently and as a team player
3. Ability to work with minimal supervision
4. Extensive knowledge of the Rwandan media landscape
5. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills in Kinyarwanda and
English/French.
