Our Rowe Farms Managers are responsible for overseeing all operations
in a retail store. Operations include staffing, bookkeeping, security
and ensuring overall cleanliness and conditions. Managers are held
accountable for the store’s profitability, so they must develop and
implement cost-cu
tting measures to minimize expenses. Supervising the
store’s customer service procedures is also a part of the manager’s
day-to-day activities. At times you may have to intervene to solve
complex customer issues.
Store managers will work with the customer service managers on
merchandising, how goods are presented for sale. Merchandising
includes deciding which product lines the store should carry and
assigning each product a specific shelf position in an effort to
maximize sales and profitability. Merchandising also involves building
special displays to showcase sale or seasonal items. Effective
merchandising helps project a desired image for the store, so managers
must keep store image in mind when developing merchandising
strategies.
Some decisions regarding areas such as merchandising and promotions
are determined by senior management, so the store manager’s role is to
execute company strategy in these areas. The manager is still held
accountable for their store’s profitability, so they must maintain a
focus on efficient store operations.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess food knowledge,
