Supervisor: Head of NRL, Division
Position: 2 biomedical technologists
Status: Fill (full time equivalent)
Under the
supervision of the Head of NRL Division, participate in the coordination of
laboratory activities. Provide accurate, timely and cost effective testing
of’samples in compliance and harmony with the quality management system.
Essential
Responsibilities
- Perform
a variety of technical laboratory procedures in the field of Medical
Parasitology, Entomology, Mycology, – Microbiology, Immune-serology,
Hematology and Chemistry; - Responsible
for accurately completing records and reports and other statistical
information for databases; - Follows
laboratory policy for data retrieval, record keeping, specimen, and
identification. requisition, reporting procedures; - Assume
responsibility to resolve problems. Performs required preventative
maintenance procedures in laboratory instrumentation; - Follow
and comply with good laboratory safety procedures: - Ensure
the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced by participating in
Management of the stocks and consumables; - Maintain
positive working relationship with the staff and all NRL personnel. Use
clear and concise verbal and written communication with staff and lab
customers; - Participate
in all activities within the quality control program of NRL and lab
network: - Participate
in mentorship supervision, trainings of laboratory staffs for the network
and any other tasks allocated by the head of Division.
Essential
Job Qualifications, Knowledge and skills
- Be a
Rwandan by nationality: - At
least a Diploma AI in Medical Laboratory Technology or Medical Entomology
and Parasitology with a minimum of 5 years experience; - A
minimum knowledge of Managing Procurement Supply; - A
responsible individual who can be a team player— teamwork; - Basic
computer literacy in MS Word, Excel applications. - Excellent
written and verbal communication skills in English or French, including
report writing skills with a good working knowledge of the other.
