Rabies

Rabies is a viral infection
transmittable from zoonotic animals to man. It is also refer to as zoonotic
diseases that can be transmitted from animals to human. Examples of these
animals are; dogs, cats, and monkeys.

Signs
& Symptoms of Rabies
1.     
Frequent  bites
2.     
Vomiting
3.     
Loss of appetite
4.     
The animals die within 10days after
biting somebody.
Prevention/
control measure.
v   Take proper care of your zoonotic animals.

the use of drugs like A.T.S and original amplicox

contact with infected animals
The history of rabies in Nigeria was
first recorded in Lagos area between 1979 and 1982. The study review that 1,849
people were bitten by dogs infected with rabies, of this population 732 people
were males representing 58.8%, while 537 people were female’s representing42.2%.
Between1964 1983, 37 human death were recorded due to rabies in Lagos area.
The confirmation of rabies was from
the Yaba Laboratory in Lagos state Nigeria, which confirm 86 cases between 1996
and Dec. 1999. Rabies has been a very threat diseases that as spread throughout
the whole world today, because of the way people are handling zoonotic animals.
For instant many people get direct contact with these animals by keeping them
at home as pests.
Some use them as security in their
compound and these has lead to outbreak of rabies from animals to man directly,
which can from one person transferred to all members of the family.  
Conclusion
Rabies which is a viral infection
transmittable from dogs, cats, monkey to man through bites of infected animals
is harmful and can wipe out a whole community.
Recommendation
It is recommended that all dogs,
cats, and monkey which men kept as pest should be properly take care of by
giving adequate treatment when necessary.
Government should build and equip
more laboratories since the only way to confirm rabies was by talking dogs and
other animals sample to the laboratory for analysis.
