Further information
At Christian Aid, we’re driven by the goal of eradicating poverty. It’s something we’re passionate about, and all our staff feel exactly the same. But that’s something you’ll discover for yourself as you work with teams across our global organisation to deliver a procurement service that’s second to none.
About the role
In this specialist role, you’ll be responsible for getting us the right products and services from the right people at the right price. Doing that well means overseeing every aspect of procurement – from sourcing and tendering to supplier management and contract negotiation. And deciding on service levels and setting performance targets, you’ll be instrumental in the content of those contracts. So you can expect to work with a variety of suppliers on a wide range of products and services. But whether you’re evaluating supplier performance or giving expert advice and support to our staff, you’ll find this is a truly exciting opportunity to change the way we do things for the better. It’s about getting the best deal right across our supplier base, always looking for ways to improve efficiency and showing a real determination to lower costs – because when it comes to ending poverty, every penny counts.
About you
As well as a degree-level education and MCIPS recognition, you’ll have plenty of relevant commercial procurement experience. So you’ll be no stranger to negotiating contracts and managing multiple supplier relationships. In fact, when it comes to juggling complex projects and solving problems under pressure, you’ll really come into your own. And with a knowledge of procurement that covers tender processes, evaluation techniques, planning and budget management, you’ll have no problem improving the way we work with our suppliers.
