Postgraduate Taught Talent Scholarship at University of Southampton in UK For Botswana Students

As a postgraduate
student you will need to pay annual tuition fees to the University for your
programme of study. You may be able to apply for funding to help you cover your
costs.

Winchester
School of Art offers the following postgraduate taught scholarships to UK, EU
and International students who wi

ll be joining our programmes in 2016 entry.

Progression
Scholarship

We are pleased to
offer Winchester School of Art Graduates progressing directly from a Bachelors
degree to a Masters degree at the School in 2016 either a £2,500 or £1,500
Scholarship towards the cost of their tuition fees.

Students who achieve
a 2:1 in their Bachelors degree will receive a £2,500 Progression Scholarship
and students who achieve a 2:2 will receive a £1,500 Scholarship.

If you are
successful in gaining a place on a Masters programme, this Scholarship will
mean an automatic reduction in your tuition fees. When we send your offer
letter to you, we will also write to you to let you know you are eligible for
one of these Scholarships. Providing you accept our offer of a place and meet
all the conditions of your offer, we will confirm your Scholarship and the
amount you are to be awarded before the start of the academic year in September
2016.

UK/EU
Postgraduate Taught Scholarship

Application
Required – Deadline 29th July 2016

These competitive
Scholarships are available to all UK/EU students who have been offered a place
on one of the School’s Masters programmes.

Students who achieve
a 2:1 classification or above in their Bachelor’s degree (Or equivalent) are
eligible to apply for one of the 10 Scholarships to the value of *£5,000 each.

* The Scholarship
consists of a £2,000 tuition fee reduction at enrolment and £3,000 living
expense allowance paid in 4 quarters: October, 1 February, 1 April and 1 July
(Or the next working day if the date falls on a weekend, University closure day
or Bank Holiday)

These Scholarships
will be awarded on a competitive basis and will be awarded by the Faculty
Associate Director of Internationalisation, based on the following criteria:

• You must be a
UK/EU national

• You must have
applied and been offered a place on one of the School’s Masters programmes

• You must hold a
Bachelors degree with a 2:1 classification or above (Or equivalent)

• You must have
submitted an application form to us by 29th July 2016 and attached in the
application a 500 word personal statement containing:

o Evidence of
academic or career progression and any professional achievement;

o How your chosen
programme will enhance your career prospects.

Students awarded a
UK/EU Postgraduate Taught Scholarship will be notified within 3 weeks of the
deadline date.

Postgraduate
Taught Scholarship

The Postgraduate
Taught Scholarship is available to students from outside the European Union
(With the exception of mainland China).

We are offering
Scholarships of £2,000 and £1,000 to students who have been offered a place on
one of the School’s Masters programmes starting in September 2016. This
Scholarship will be in the form of a tuition fee reduction.

To qualify for one
of our £2,000 scholarships, students must have achieved a 1st class or 2:1 in
their Bachelor’s degree (Or equivalent)

To qualify for one
of our £1,000 Scholarships, students must have achieved a 2:2 in their
Bachelor’s degree (Or equivalent)

If you are
successful in gaining a place with us, this Scholarship will mean an automatic
reduction in your tuition fees. When we send your offer letter to you, we will
also write to you to let you know you are eligible for one of these
Scholarships. Providing you accept our offer of a place and meet all the
conditions of your offer, we will confirm your Scholarship and the amount you
are to be awarded before the start of the academic year in September 2016.

Please note: MA
Design: Luxury Brand Management students are only eligible for the £2,000
scholarship, due to the higher entry requirement of a 2:1 in their Bachelors
degree.

Postgraduate
Taught Excellence in English Scholarship

The Postgraduate
Taught Excellence in English Scholarship is available to students from mainland
China only.

We are offering
Scholarships of £2,000 to students who have been offered a place on one of the
School’s Masters programmes starting in September 2016. This Scholarship will
be in the form of a tuition fee reduction.

To qualify for one
of our £2,000 Scholarships, you must achieve one of the following;

For MA Design:
Management pathways and MA Contemporary Curation: An overall IELTS test score
of 7.0, with at least 6.5 in Reading and Writing and 6.0 in Speaking and
Listening

For MA Design:
Practice-based pathways, MA Fine Art and MA Games Design & Art: An overall
IELTS test score of 6.5, with at least 6.0 in all components.

If you are
successful in gaining a place with us, this Scholarship will mean an automatic
reduction in your tuition fees. When we send your offer letter to you, we will
also write to you to let you know you are eligible for one of our Scholarships.
Providing you accept our offer of a place and meet all the conditions of your
offer, we will confirm your Scholarship and the amount you are to be awarded
before the start of the academic year in September 2016.

Postgraduate
Taught Talent Scholarship

Application

The Postgraduate
Taught Talent Scholarship of £6,000 is available for up to 3 students from
Africa, Middle East, South America and India who excel in their field.

Please send in a
completed application form once an offer of a place has been secured on your
chosen programme.

These Scholarships
will be awarded by the Faculty Associate Director of Internationalisation.

International
Ambassador Scholarship

Application
Required – Deadline 31st March 2016

The International
Ambassador Scholarship of £5,000 is available for up to 4 students from Japan,
South Korea, Thailand and Norway. This Scholarship recognises outstanding
students who wish to act as an ambassador for the School.

Please send in a
completed application form once an offer of a place has been secured on your
chosen programme.

These Scholarships
will be awarded by the Faculty Associate Director of Internationalisation.

PLEASE NOTE:

• These scholarships
listed above are only for 2016 entry. If you are unable to take up your place
in 2016 entry and subsequently re-apply for 2017 entry, scholarships will not
automatically carry over.

• These scholarships
only apply to Winchester School of Art and will not apply if you change your
programme to another School/Faculty.

• Although you may
apply for more than one scholarship, you can only receive one scholarship from
the University.

• Students must be
paying their own tuition fees. Students in receipt of full external funding,
e.g. Chevening Scholarships, are not entitled to a University scholarship also.

• Only successful
students will be notified if they have been awarded a scholarship. These
students will receive an official reward letter to the email address provided
on their scholarship application form.

• All scholarships
are subject to availability of funds and details given here are subject to
change at any time.
