Popular sex enhancement drugs in high demand

Sex stimulant continue to gain an unprecedented level of popularity especially among the youths, who use these aphrodisiacs for sexual pleasure. This contradicts the popular belief that reduced sex drive majorly occurs in individuals with relatively low level of testosterone; meaning post-menopausal women or men over the age of 60 (Showemimo, 2014).

According to Showemimo (2014) aphrodisiacs are substances that increase sexual desires or libido. Many foods, drinks, pills, ointment and even chewing gum have been said to make sex more pleasurable. However, from a historical and scientific stand point, the alleged results may be more because the user (youth) believe that they will be effective also known as placebo effect.

In the pursuit of increased stamina and improve libido, several youths have reportedly resorted to the use of stimulants or drinks thought or said to be an avenue to sexual pleasures.

Tramadol: Tramadol is one of the most popularly abused drug by Nigerian youths for sexual enhancement. Normally, tramadol is a narcotic-like pain reliever. It is used to treat moderate to severe pain due to its extended release form of around-the-clock treatment of pain.
