Plan Uganda with funding from SIDA will implement a three-year Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH) Project in Lira District. The Project primarily targets adolescents (13 to 19 years of age) both in and out of school and will be implemented through partnerships. Specifically the project aims at empowerment of adolescent girls and boys with information and life skills regarding sexual and reproductive health rights; increasing awareness among adolescent boys and girls on the risky adolescent practices; and improvement of the communication skills of caretakers to effectively “communicate with youths on sexuality and reproductive issues.

Project Facilitator, UKNO Water Supply Project-{2 positions based in Luwero and Tororo)

The Project Facilitator will act as a resource in the One Foundation/UKNO-funded Water supply Project team by leading implementation of project activities at District and community level. She/he will ensure the project is implemented with highest quality and timely manner as per the project design and Plan’s CCCD approach and according to the project’s and Plan Uganda’s WASH sector procedures and guidelines. Reporting to the Lead Programme Unit Managers with dotted line to Project Coordinator-UKNO Water Supply Project, his/her key result areas will be as below:

Key Result Areas;
• Lead implementation of project interventions at district and community level based on the project documents
• Take a lead role in the promotion of project approaches inclusive of education governance
• Strengthen community capacity to engage in education management and governance while encouraging participation of vulnerable groups
• Conduct regular project administrative activities including writing and modification of Project Outlines plus updating and generation of PPM reports
• Establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with all key partners and stakeholder groups
• Prepare timely and quality project related reports based on the log frames and reporting formats
• Support documentation of project processes and capturing of good practices for programme learning.
• Conduct training and facilitation for partner staff, communities, children and youth on right to education and governance
• Promote networking of groups and integration of programs to strengthen linkage both internally and externally
• Ensure vulnerable children and youth, including girts, children out of school and children with disabilities are participating in project activities

Requirement:

Essential skills and competencies:
• Bachelor degree in Social Work, Social sciences, Development studies or related field
• At least 3 years in direct implementation of Water and Sanitation projects in rural areas
• Knowledge of Ugandan WASH sector guidelines/ standards on rural water supply development and the operation and maintenance framework
• Demonstrable abilities in planning and coordination
• Excellent facilitation skills including facilitation of children and youth
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work with people from diverse cultures and diverse teams
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills
• Computers skills (MS Office) and social media skills
