Center for Quantum Devices. The Center for Quantum Devices at the Niels
Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen has a 1-2 open Ph.D. positions in
experimental condensed matter/device physics for the development of schemes to
create, detect, and braid majorana fermions in networks made from semiconductor
heterostructures, nanowires, and superconductors. The long-term goal of the
project is to investigate topological protection of these topological quantum
states and to realize topological quantum information processing systems. The
project involves nanofabrication using electron-beam lithography, low-noise
measurement at millikelvin temperatures, control of high-bandwidth electronics,
data analysis, collaboration with theorists, writing and publishing. The
candidate should have experience with device fabrication and low-temperature
measurement.
