Pathogenesis of staphylococcus aureus

Generally staphylococcus
aureus reaches the bladder by ascending from the urethral. It infects the
urinary system by attaching to the wall of the urinary system with the aid of
its pilli. This is followed by penetration of the newly exposed cell by endocytosis.
Bacterial ascend the urethral and causes pyelonephritis which causes scaring
and shrinking of the kidney, an important cause of the kidney failure (Kennedy,
2004).
