Intermediate Network & Systems Specialist
Saskatoon, SK

You will play a role in the administration, support and expansion of our local and wide area network and enterprise server management. You will bring in-depth experience in network administration, incident/problem management, change management, monitoring and network best practices.

You need to be able to:
Provide hands-on day-to-day support of network and server operations, handling technical problems and escalations from other support groups, on equipment ranging from PC workstations to enterprise servers to Cisco-based networks
Provide technical guidance and solutions for the development, enhancement and operation of network and server infrastructures that are reliable, scalable, available and secure
Investigate, propose and develop innovative network solutions to enhance infrastructure operations and capabilities
Manage and support enterprise servers running Microsoft, VMware, and Linux operating systems
Perform systems and application-level programming and testing as part of an in-house development team.
You have a post-secondary degree in computer science or a related technical profession, and have worked 4 to 6 years in information technology, including at least 2 years of proven experience in a network administrator role in an enterprise environment using Cisco technology. A CCNA certification and expertise in managing and supporting enterprise scale LAN and WAN networks utilizing Cisco technology is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
You are familiar with administering Microsoft Windows and Linux servers.
You also have experience with object-oriented development, software version control and automated testing methodologies.
The ability to communicate, co-ordinate and collaborate within a team and with other business units is critical. You are self-motivated and have the ability to be responsible for managing critical tasks, projects and systems. You enjoy working in a fast-paced and demanding environment. You have strong planning skills, technical aptitude and highly effective oral and written communication capabilities.
