Overview
OXFAM is conducting a study on youths and urban livelihoods slated to
begin later in the month of January 2014. The study aims to identify
alternative livelihood strategies and potential areas of interventions for
OXFAM and partners. As a result, we are seeking enumerators to help us gather
qualitative and quantitative data from respondents in and around Kigali.
Key tasks
- Administer questionnaires and other data
collection tools as may be deemed necessary. - When asked facilitate focused group
discussions (FGD) with enumerators either as moderator or minute taker - Lead a training workshop for enumerators.
- Review the completed questionnaires in detail
at the end of each day of work and make necessary corrections with the
help of the supervisor. - Consult the lead consultant on any problems
which may affect the quality and integrity of data - Manage the data-entry process, ensuring that
quality checks on the data entry are carried out as specified in Oxfam’s
procedure document.
Time commitment
- The assignment is expected to take
approximately 6-12working days to complete. - Survey preparation and data collection is
planned to take place 20th February 2014
Essential skills and qualifications
- Prior experience in similar work of
collecting quantitative and qualitative data - Basic knowledge of research ethics
- Experience in administering household
surveys, preferably as a field supervisor or coordinator responsible for
checking the quality of work of enumerators. - Exceptionally high level of attention to
detail in carrying out surveys and data entry. - Basic information technology skills.
- Command of Kinyarwanda
- (Desirable) Good working level in spoken
English.
