Humanitarian Support Personnel Team Purpose
To respond effectively and rapidly to major
emergencies anywhere in the world, and enable communities to become more
resilient to future shocks and stresses. The Global Humanitarian Team deploy
the HSP team to deliver technical expertise in response to CAT 1 and 2 crises
and provides expertise, advice and support to country programme teams,
humanitarian response teams and Regional Humanitarian Unit teams to enable them
to respond effectively and appropriately when implementing humanitarian
programmes.

response operations or country programmes to meet humanitarian needs. The post
holder will be expected to manage all aspects of programming from emergency
programme design and implementation to high-level policy and representation
work. The post holder must be able to demonstrate an understanding of
development issues and an ability to develop long-term strategic programme
plans. Post holder will also be expected to cover key vacant posts at country
director/deputy regional director level.

support the delivery of effective, high quality humanitarian programmes in line
with Oxfam’s vision for humanitarian preparedness and response, while
stakeholders in regions (Regional Humanitarian Coordinators, Country Directors,
country programme staff and partners) and Global Humanitarian Team colleagues
in the Delivery, Strategic Focus Areas, and Quality and Capacity teams to
support the delivery of effective, high quality humanitarian programmes in line
with Oxfam’s vision for humanitarian preparedness and response, while

We are looking for a person with the ability to deploy at short notice to areas affected
by humanitarian crises and willingness to work under pressure and challenging
and insecure environments. You will need extensive experience of leading
large-scale emergency responses in complex environments, including regional
operations and an in-depth understanding of relevant humanitarian principles
and policies, with a broad knowledge of challenges related to the international
humanitarian system and proven financial management skill with experience in
managing compliance in large-scale, complex programmes. Fluency in spoken and
written English is essential, French, Spanish and other languages would be an
advantage.
