Background
Oxfam’s purpose is to work with others to overcome poverty and suffering around the world and in Rwanda we focus on the promotion of sustainable livelihoods opportunities and women’s empowerment through enterprise development in agriculture. We are currently recruiting as follows:
Executive Assistant / Receptionist – Ref OXFEA2012 (Closing date: 28th January 2012)
This is a critical role within our small team. You will provide PA support to the Country Director including managing her diary and email and coordinating information requests from within and outside the team. You will organise travel and meetings/workshops for the country programme and organise visits from other offices, working with internal and external contacts and suppliers. You will provide secretarial support to meetings and events when required. You will oversee the reception and switchboard at the office and manage office administration and general running on behalf of the team.
What we are looking for
To succeed in this role, you will have a first university degree in administration/management or any other relevant field of study, with at least 2 years’ experience providing administrative support in a similar role, preferably with some experience as a personal assistant to a senior manager within international organisations.
Communication skills will be very important, as will a proven ability to remain calm, focused and organised to deliver results on time as well as to interact with a range of people from different countries. You will have the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a discreet and professional manner. You’ll certainly be someone who can take initiative and make sound judgements and play a full role within the team.
Fluent written and spoken English and Kinyarwanda are essential as well as working knowledge of French.
