Operational definition of terms

Attitude:  A tendency to respond positively or negatively towards a certain idea,
object, person, or situation

Breast: Either of the two soft, protruding organs on the
upper front of a woman’s body which secrete milk after childbirth.

·     Breast cancer: The growth of a cell in the breast
into surrounding tissues or spread to distant areas of the body.
·  Childbearing age: The period in a woman’s
life between puberty and menopause
· Distortion: A change occurring in
something from its usual, original, natural, or condition.
·  Knowledge: The fact or condition of
knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association
·   Lumps: A compact mass of a substance, especially one
without a definite or regular shape.
·      Malignant: A things or conditions that threaten life or well-being.
·      Mammography: A technique of using X-rays
to diagnose and locate tumours of the breasts.
·       
Self-examination: The action of examining
one’s own body for signs of illness
·       
Swelling: An abnormal enlargement of
a part of the body.
