Social Worker
Catholic Family Services of Toronto requires immediately a clinical counsellor/ educator, reporting to the Supervisor of the Men’s Wellness program for our North Office. This position will provide services within the framework of the Men’s Wellness Program, including Men and Anger, Choosing to Change and Being a Dad groups. In addition to leading groups for men, the counselor will carry a clinical caseload of individuals, couples and families. The position is 35 hours a week and requires two evenings per week.
Qualifications
Membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers is required.
Master Degree in Social Work or related sciences; skills in clinical social work including individual counselling, couple assessment and marital therapy; skills in group methodology; knowledge of the dynamics of violence against women and a good understanding of the dynamics of abusive relationships; knowledge of family development, family systems and learning theory; sensitivity to the needs of people from diverse cultural and racial backgrounds. The ability to address spiritual dimension of service within the Catholic tradition is an asset.
