What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
• plan, develop and ensure the sustainability of forest ecosystems and
integration of resource management activities
• provide knowledge and advice on the ecology and management of forests
• assist in the management of area issues
• provide customer service to internal and external clients
Location: 808 Robertson Street, Kenora, Ontario
How do I qualify?
Mandatory Requirements:
• you must possess a Registered Professional Forester (RPF)
designation from the Ontario Professional Foresters Association
• you must possess a valid driver’s licence to travel to the field and
complete field work
Technical Knowledge:
• you have experience working with forest management planning,
analytical modelling, harvest and silvicultural systems, procedures
and techniques
• you have the ability to interpret and apply the principles and
practices of forest ecosystem management and relevant legislation
applicable to forest management within Ontario
• you have the ability to ensure forest resources are sustainably managed
Technical Skills:
• you have experience working with computer software including word
processing, spreadsheets, Geographic Information Systems (GIS),
database management, presentation, Internet and electronic mail
applications
• you have the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation
including the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Interpersonal Skills:
• you possess strong analytical and negotiating skills
• you have the ability to promote and develop partnerships
• you have effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Salary range: $1,150.66 — $1,421.31 per week
