Position
Summary:

The Program
Coordinator will work in close collaboration with the Director of Programs in
the administration and implementation of the OICI RAMPS program funded by a
grant from TOPS in conjunction with USAID’s Office of Food for Peace. S/he will
be expected to establish required working rapport with the OICI field offices
and the implementing partners in order to promote OICI’s locally produced food
product, Super Gari.
S/he will be required to perform some of the project monitoring functions
independently and with very little supervision from Director of Programs.

Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties may be
assigned based upon the needs of the department and organizational needs.

This position will
be responsible for the day-to-day as well as periodic monitoring of field level
project implementation activities. S/he will bring to the attention of the DS
the issues needing his immediate attention with background information and some
preliminary analysis.

Specific program
services will include:

  • Organize
    four workshops promoting OICI locally produced food product, Super Gari
  • Assist
    with and monitor the Super
    Gari
    media campaign
  • Supervise
    Project Assistant and Marketing Specialist
  • Draft
    and/or prepare program reports, work plans, budgets and correspondence as
    needed
  • Assist
    in the collection, formatting and dissemination of field-level best
    practices to encourage their use by all ongoing activities of similar
    nature
  • Liaise
    with OICI HANDS Program staff
  • Collaborate
    with OICI HQ Director of Programs and Program Manager to support program
    planning, implementation and monitoring
  • Provide
    monitoring evaluation duties by working with staff and partners to
    document outcomes, successes and areas for improvement
  • Coordinate
    and/or represent OICI in professional circles through meetings,
    conferences and presentations

Qualification
Required:

  • Bachelor’s
    Degree in international development related field
  • Excellent
    presentation skills
  • Food
    processing, management and INGO experience preferred
  • Ability
    to write routine reports, correspondence, responses to internal and
    external inquiries in area of responsibility and procedural guidelines
  • Working
    knowledge of Microsoft applications and spreadsheets
  • Strong
    attention to detail, well organized and ability to problem solve

Physical
Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to
talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or
controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The
employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
