As a member of the Board, you will be directing the affairs of the Land Trust in accordance with its objectives, constitution and bylaws, applicable legislation, and approved strategic and business plans. We are particularly interested in finding new members who have skills and expertise in organizational governance, finance, fundraising, real estate and environmental law, provincial government relations, preferably live and/or
work on the Oak Ridges Moraine and have a particular interest or love for the Moraine.
You will bring related experience with non-profit Boards, committees, associations or other community groups as a member, donor, volunteer or staff. As well, you will have transferable skills such as finance, policy development, planning, program administration, fundraising, marketing, communications, public relations, promotion, land securement, stewardship, moraine ecology, stakeholder relations, volunteer co-ordination, etc. You will be an active team player and able to use your personal network, problem solving and creative thinking skills.
As a Board member, you will be expected to invest 5 – 10 hours per month in Governance related activity of the Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust. Board meetings take place bimonthly, in the evening at the main office located at the King Campus of Seneca College. Arrangements can be made to Skype or teleconference.
