The HUB is a place for technologists, social entrepreneurs, government, tech
companies, impact investors and hackers in and around Lagos to co-create new
solutions to the many social problems in Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Product
Specialist

• Under the
  supervision of the Head of Products, the Innovation Specialist will be
  required to work with a wide range of staff across the iConcepts business.
• He will also
  work with network operators and with technical service providers,
  open-source development communities, and local developers to test new and
  innovative ideas aiming at addressing real life problems using mobile
  technology.

• Coordinate and
  provide support on overall innovation strategy and product roadmap,
  including formulation, design, planning and implementation in close
  collaboration with the Content Unit, IT and Business Development where
  applicable
• Proactively
  scout for new innovative ideas and opportunities in mobile technology
• Promote and
  incubate products contained in the roadmap to support the attainment of
  the business’ growth targets
• Identify
  opportunities for new partnerships and lead proposal development efforts
  with mobile network operators in collaboration with the Business
  Development Unit where applicable.
• Develop
  partnerships and network with local innovators, youth organizations, NGOs,
  cultural and religious organizations, the private sector, local media and
  academia to build and provide a space to nurture and test new and
  innovative ideas and build capacity.
• Coordinate and
  support development and testing of innovation products to strengthen and
  improve efficiency and effectiveness of iConcepts service delivery. More
  specifically, provide technical support for deployment of data-driven
  products and services –including negotiations with mobile network
  companies and other service providers.
• Train
  iConcepts staff and other end users, where applicable in the use of
  innovation products and processes.
• Document
  tested products and ensure effective sharing and generation of knowledge
  on mobile technology innovations in the entire business.
• Support
  iConcepts efforts to showcase successful product innovations at mobile
  technology forums
• Set up clear
  monitoring mechanisms for effectively launched products to ensure their
  continued performance throughout the product lifecycle.

• Advanced
  university degree in Economics, Marketing or the Social Sciences, or other
  relevant disciplines, with training or requisite experience in Product
  Development in the Telecommunications or ICT industry
• At least 2
  years of experience with demonstrated results in Project/Program
  Management

• Familiar with
  the concept of growth hacking
• Demonstrated
  communication and relationship building skills
• Excellent oral
  and written presentation skills
• Excellent team
  player able to participate and coordinate team activities as required
• Proven
  capacity to work with collaborative teams across different locations and with
  different technical skills.
• Experience in
  budgeting and coordinating projects

Frontend
Developer

• The Frontend
  developer will be required to work with the different people to gather the
  requirements and develop the frontend for websites and mobile apps.

• Develop
  functional and appealing web and mobile-based applications based on
  usability
• Provide
  website maintenance and enhancements
• Use a combination
  of markup languages to write web pages
• Write
  functional requirement documents and specifications
• Create quality
  mockups and prototypes on tight timelines
• Assist
  back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting
• Create
  cascading style sheets (CSS) that are consistent across all browsers and
  platforms
• Maintain
  graphic standards and branding throughout the product’s interface
• Stay
  up-to-date on emerging technologies
• Promote
  usability best practices
• Work with
  client services, sales, and the design team, and manage time across
  multiple projects and tasks in a deadline-driven,team environment.
• Participate in
  discussions with clients and team members about technical best practices
  and help teams identify optimal technical solutions.

• CSS systems
  such as LESS and SASS to compile style files
• Subversion or
  other version control system
• Analytics
  solutions, such as Google Analytics
• Developing for
  search engine optimization
• Standards-compliant
  code
• Integrating
  HTML/CSS into ASP.NET environment using Visual Studio
• Minimum
  education required should be HND/BSc

• Agile
  methodology and instill best practices into the process
• Deliver
  best-in-class HTML5/CSS3/JQuery front-end code across a broad array of
  interactive web and mobile projects.
• Possess an
  advanced knowledge of web and mobile UX/UI; adhere to and extrapolate
  complex design systems and apply to coded pages, screens, and states.
• Ability to
  develop and test across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices,
  including smartphones and tablets.
• Understand
  when mobile web apps are appropriate as opposed to native applications.

Software
Developer

• The candidate
  is responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites/web
  applications and desktop applications, from layout to function and
  according to the specifications.
• Strive to
  create visually appealing applications that feature user-friendly design
  and clear navigation.

• Write well
  designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development
  practices
• Integrate data
  from various back-end services and databases
• Integrate the
  services with telecom operators.
• Develop and
  test mobile VAS products.
• Candidate must
  have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general
  web functions, and standards.
• The position
  requires constant communication with colleagues.
• Create and
  maintain software documentation
• Be responsible
  for maintaining, expanding, and scaling websites/Applications
• Stay plugged
  into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations
  and activities
• Cooperate with
  web designers to match visual design intent

• Understanding
  of HTML, CSS, JQuery and JavaScript
• 3+ years’
  experience with C# and the .NET Framework
• Solid
  knowledge of ASP.NET MVC 5
• Experience
  with SQL Databases and Entity Framework
• Windows
  service knowledge with integration with OWIN
• Minimum
  education required should be HND/BSc
• Knowledge of
  other programming languages especially PHP, Visual Basic is an added
  advantage

• Experience in
  planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products
  and organizational units
• Deep expertise
  and hands on experience with Web Applications and programming languages
  such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and API’s.
• Deep
  functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services
  (REST, SOAP, etc.) is needed to be successful in this position.
• Knowledge of
  telecommunication technologies like IVR, SMPP, USSD etc.
• Basic knowledge
  of the Mobile VAS industry
• Experience
  with source control (we use Git)
• Good English
  skills
