Newmont Ghana Gold Limited a subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation recruits for Mine Maintenance Electrician – Akyem Project. We are one of the World’s largest gold mining companies.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, environmentally compliant and cost effective electrical, electronic maintenance and repair services for Akyem’s blasthole drilling and shovel equipment.
Essential Duties:
• Identify, repair electrical and electronic defects in blast hole drilling and shovel equipment
• Remove, replace and/or repair all defective electrical and electronic parts and components
• Complete electrical equipment overhauls and rebuilds as directed by competent supervision
• Maintain the electrical maintenance work areas in a safe, clean managed condition
• Open maintenance work orders in Ellipse as necessary
The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive
Required Skills or Experience
• A completion of electrical trade training, apprenticeship or other recognized electrical training program
• Minimum of three years electrical trade experience, repairing and maintaining heavy equipment in a heavy construction or mining environment
• Direct experience in maintaining Sanvik D45, Pantera 1500 drills, and liebherr 994 shovels ( or atlas Copco or equivalent) in mining environment
• Direct experience in maintaining and repairing electrical systems on a large hydraulic excavators
• Successful completion of Dritech D45 (or Atlas Copco) electrical training program
