Moving Meadows is a growing 200 acre farm located in beautiful Grey
Bruce, about 2.5 hours northwest of Toronto. As stewards of this land,
we are looking forward to our fourth year of welcoming people to
work-stay with us as we develop
our vision for creating an
ecologically responsible and economically viable farming operation
while nourishing creativity and nurturing community.
Work-stay positions available for those seeking a diverse and
rewarding farming experience. We manage a food co-operative that works
with other small local farms to deliver high quality products to a
growing membership in Toronto. Work-stay participants will engage in
the following tasks:
• Seeding, transplanting, pest /weed control and harvesting organic,
biodynamic inspired herbs and vegetables
• Assisting in weekly deliveries to co-op members
• Care and management of naturally raised animals
• Operating various farm equipment and tools
• Landscaping and tree transplanting
• Maintaining farm infrastructure
• Opportunities to work with other local farmers
• Participating and enjoying in events and gatherings on the farm
Experience is an asset, but we welcome first-timers who are eager to
learn. We are seeking folks who are:
• Honest and hard working
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Able to follow direction well and work well independently
• Flexible in their work according the needs of the day, weather changes, etc.
• Willing to prepare a minimum of 2 simple meals a week for the household
• Valid driver’s licence an asset
Work-stay positions available from April to October, with a minimum
2-month commitment. Work is 6 days a week, approximately 8 hours a
day. Room and board (wi-fi available) and all meals included, as well
as a $200 monthly stipend. Accommodation options include cabin,
camping or sharing a room in the farm house. Vegetarian diets can be
accommodated, though dietary flexibility is required.
