Job Description:
The Regional Development &
Expansion Expert leads Mobisol’s geographic expansion, market penetration and
business development efforts in East Africa.
The main responsibilities of the
Regional Development and Expansion Expert are:
• Leading development of
nation-wide expansion strategy, including opening of new outlets, business
centres, and new market penetration channels
• Establishing a standardised
national expansion approach (horizontal and vertical), which specifies required
key processes/activities and typical timelines that need to be considered prior
to handing over to departments concerned
• Driving market-related
competitor analysis by gathering intelligence and summarizing input coming from
other team members
•Acting as relationship builder
at the regional level, identifying opportunities and supporting the development
of relationships in East Africa
• Promoting business
opportunities and partnerships in surrounding countries (including possible
partners in West Africa)
• Coordinating with the
Partnership & Expansion department to enable collective learning
• Using GIS expertise and tools
to assess and determine potential and strategic target areas for Mobisol’s
activities in East Africa
•Supporting sales and marketing
departments to set up and implement a clear and proper planning, in line with
Mobisol focus areas
•Conducting studies on off-grid
sector and customer profiles (standard of living, occupation, behavior, needs,
main sources of income, etc.)
• Contributing to the
professionalization and continuous improvement of the database and the Mobisol
application (M-Tawi)
• Reporting on country
development and expansion-related topics to the Headquarters in Berlin, as well
as to offices in Tanzania and Kenya
Requirement:
•
Master’s Degree (engineer, preferably in environment)
•
Minimum 5+ years of work experience in the field of environmental technologies
•
Experience in an international work/business environment (3+ years of work
experience with an international company, experience with a European startup is
a plus)
•
Advanced expertise in GIS (at least 3+ years of work experience)
•
Minimum 1+ year of work experience in the solar energy sector (preferably
off-grid sector in Africa)
•
Experience in conducting environmental studies (off-grid or other topics
relevant to off-grid areas and beneficiaries)
•
Experience in writing technical reports (publication of official reports or
studies is a plus)
•
Strong skills in data analysis (proficiency in excel required)
•
Proven knowledge and experience in database usage and development
•
High analytical and organizational capabilities
•
Familiarity with East-African context
•
Fluency in English and French
