The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MINICOM) has received a grant from
the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to support the Hanga Umurimo
programme and the Rwanda Institute of Cooperative, Entrepreneurship and
Microfinance (RICEM) in order to scale up SMEs Development initiatives for
sustainability.
The grant was provided under the context of Building Inclusive
Financial Sector in Rwanda Programme (BIFSIR) and will be managed by the Single
Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) under the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The Ministry therefore intends to recruit qualified and competent
candidate to fill the following post in the SPIU management structure. The
duration of the contract shall be 1 Year renewable upon availability of
funds and satisfactory performance.
Post: The Sector Specialist Support to Small and
MicroEnterprises (SMEs)
Roles and responsibilities:
- Contributes to and reviews proposals and
plans to determine time frame, and identify relevant risks and plan for
remedial measures, - Source and manage consultancy services
for technical assistance to SACCOs, PROBAs, Apprentices and TVET graduates - Support key stakeholders that provide
services to SMEs including UDF, RCA, SACCOs, to address the needs of rural
small and microenterprises and quality service is delivered. - Facilitate apprentices and TVET graduates
access financial services on good conditions; - Support the implementation of PROBA scheme
- Regular update of Hanga Umurimo database
- Prepare activity plans and ensure they are
executed timely - Ensure 100% budget execution of projects
under his/her portfolio - Contributes to establishing evaluation
criteria on achieved activities - Submit regular activities reports and report
on challenges, corrective measures and way forward
Profile:
- University Degree in economics, finance,
management, development studios, project management or related field - At least three years relevant experience in
field of SMEs development - Well developed computer skills
- Familiarity with procedures and projects
funded by GoR, UNDP, World Bank, ADB, IFAD is an added advantage. - People oriented and ready to work up country;
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
