Requirements:
- Diploma
Trained, minimum 3 years working experience - First
Aid Certificate - Asthma
& Anaphylaxis Certificate - Working
With Children Check - Working
knowledge of the EYLF framework - Australian

Responsibilities:
- Assist
in delivering a high quality of care for Children in a home like
environment. - Create
a positive learning environment for pre-school children. - Ensure
practice on delivering quality learning opportunities (as per the EYLF)
for all young children, so that they enter kindergarten ready to succeed
in school and in life. - Help
in implementing successful transition of Pre-Schoolers to formal
schooling. - Assist
in ensuring the maintenance of a safe, attractive and welcoming
environment for both families and children. - Assist
in delivering the daily programme of pre-school activities and events. - Connect
and be responsive to the cultural, socio-economic and individual needs of
the children and their families and work creatively to meet diverse needs
as appropriate. - Invite
and encourage families to be involved in their child’s day; - Assist
in maintenance of observation, day register and record keeping so that
children’s attainment and progress are effectively and regularly assessed;
to monitor the effectiveness of assessment procedures. - Take
all reasonable care for own health and safety and the health and safety of
colleagues by ensuring correct safety practices are followed, for
example when lifting children, equipment etc, nappy changing, food
handling etc. - Undertake
incident reporting in a timely manner in accordance with Mini-skool
policies and procedures. - Implement
emergency evacuation and safety plans and procedures as instructed; check
and complete daily safety checklists and documents, including changes to
be made. - Ensure
confidentiality of information regarding children, staff and families. - To
contribute to and to implement all pre-school policies and procedures,
especially those on equal opportunities and confidentiality. - To
attend in-service training and meetings as required. - To
undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Chair of the
management committee/pre-school proprietor, in accordance with the
preschool/nursery’s business plan/objectives.

You must be patient with young kids who have a tough time expressing
themselves or need lots of help learning skills. - Communication
Skills:
Excellent writing and speaking skills to be able to record and deliver
children’s progress to parents and other teachers. - Creativity:
Keeping young kids’ attention requires creativity. You need to think of
new and innovative ways to engage children to learn. - Instructional
Skills:
Being able to communicate difficult concepts to kids in a way they
understand is crucial. - People
Skills:
You must be empathetic to children’s emotions and parent’s needs - Responsiveness:
You must be a quick thinker to response accordingly. - Professionalism:
Clear demonstration of professionalism of a Diploma Educator. - Passionate:
Above all, you have true passion for supporting; nurturing and caring for
children and seeing them reach their potential.
