In partnership with its client CPL is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their prestigious team
Our Client:
Our client is a fast expanding wind turbine manufacturer developing state of the art multi KW turbines.
Mechanical Design Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will liaise with the project manager and agree goals on the design project, starting with a technical proposal right through to after sales support.
The role incorporates system calculations and CAD modeling, supplier liaison, process development, type-testing, project management, support documentation and customer support throughout. Adaptability and a range of skills are therefore required in addition to mechanical design engineering experience.
As a mechanical engineer you are responsible for the design of wind turbines.
You create and maintain drawings using CAD tools and techniques.
You demonstrate initiative and judgment in such matters as selecting, placing and accentuating detail or in identifying problems.
You exercise initiative in completing recurring assignments independently.
You check interfaces between components.
You liaise with other Engineering disciplines, Procurement and Project Management and provide technical support to the Sales Department.
Criteria for Mechanical Design Engineer Job in Co. Monaghan
3-5 years experience with AutoCAD
You will demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills.
You are fluent in English, commercially aware, pragmatic and self starting.
You will like to work both independently as well as in a team.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar and will be able to demonstrate a strong track record in a relevant role. Consideration will also be given to promising candidates with less experience. A background in the medium scale wind turbine sector , stress analysis/FEA, would be advantageous. Experience of CAD is essential – preferably Solidworks – Autocad/Inventor – and familiarity with manufacturing systems would be useful.
