MANUFACTURING PRODUCTION LEADING HAND

We are a busy manufacturing jobbing shop looking for a production, leading hand. This employee will oversee the smooth running of the production floor. This position requires a trade background (preferably in a jobbing style workshop) and a hands-on, logical approach to production.
Your day to day responsibilities will be to lead a dedicated team of machinists & fabricators and assist the general manager.
As the Leading Hand you will be responsible for:
• Implementing and assisting with production schedules and planning
• Prioritising tasks to ensure customer expectations are met.
• Basic maintenance and housekeeping of plant, equipment and work areas.
• OH&S – Overseeing safety systems and procedures and being the lead for all safety matters.
The successful applicant must possess the following attributes:
• Able to work unsupervised
• have 5 + years work experience in industry or trade
• Experience in Manual & CNC Machining essential
• Hold a forklift licence
• Good level of English oral and written
• Ability to work around tight dead lines
• Hard working and prepared to attend to all duties needed to run a factory/warehouse including inbound /outbound goods and inventory management/control.
