Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is an international non-profit, public health organisation with headquarters in USA, whose purpose is to strengthen health programs worldwide. MSH Uganda is currently running a number of USAID and other donor funded projects, both in Kampala and other parts of the country, and one of these being the STRIDES Project.

STRIDES for Family Health strengthens the capacity of the health system in fifteen (15) selected districts in Uganda to make them fully functional and able to deliver quality, integrated reproductive health/family planning (RH/FP), child survival (CS) and Nutrition services to the people in need of these services.

MSH now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position of Regional
Nutrition Advisor (1 Position) for the STRIDES projects

Regional Nutrition Advisor (1 Position)

Overall Responsibilities:
The Regional Nutrition Advisor’s overall responsibility is to provide technical direction to STRIDES nutrition activities in the districts both at the facility and community levels. The Advisor will closely liaise with the National Nutrition Advisor, DHMTs, the regional referral nutritionist as well as the health unit in-charges from facilities implementing nutrition activities. The Regional Nutrition Advisor will participate in developing relevant training materials and conducting training of the various services providers.

The position is based in the Central Region – Kampala

Requirement: Qualifications:
1) Degree in Nutrition with focus in public health or equivalent
2) At least three years of demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful nutrition programs, managing malnutrition in infants/children, and promoting behavioral change for prevention of malnutrition
3) Experience working at the community level preferred
4) Experience working with the private sector
5) Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate with a variety of collaborators, including DHMTs, NGOs and community-based organizations.
6) Demonstrated experience providing technical assistance to government and non-government health workers
7) Strong organizational and report writing skills
