The
Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) is a statutory body
established under the Communications Act (CAP 68:01) of the laws of Malawi, to
regulate the provision of communication services in Malawi in the areas of
telecommunication, broadcasting and postal services.
MACRA is
inviting suitable persons to apply for the following position tenable at its
Blantyre offices.

Spectrum
Planning Officer (Grade MA6)
Job
purpose
The
Spectrum Planning officer assists MACRA in accomplishing its objectives by
contributing towards the efficient planning and usage of spectrum in order to
maximize its economic benefits. The incumbent will report to the Spectrum
Planning Manager.
Responsibilities
·        
Undertakes
initial technical analysis for operators regarding spectrum planning,
allocation, and assignment
·        
Participates
in cross-border coordination on spectrum usage and frequency assignments
·        
Allocates
frequency for different spectrum services
·        
Processes
radio licenses for all spectrum licencees
·        
Participates
in resolving interference problems among operators
·        
Updates
the established national frequency band plan
Qualifications
and Experience
·        
Must have
an Advanced Diploma in Telecommunications or its equivalent. A degree will be
an added advantage.
·        
Must have
at least three years of experience in RF planning, frequency planning and
optimization of mobile cellular networks.
·        
Ability
to work under pressure and flexibility of hours
·        
Must have
high quality inter-personal skills
