The
Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised
centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. The Effective Health
Care Research Consortium includes partners from the Cochrane Centres in South
Africa and India, partners in Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon and China.
The
Consortium also includes the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group, who have over
100 published Cochrane reviews in malaria, tuberculosis, tropical diseases and
infections working with 17 editors and 550 authors spread throughout the world.
The editorial base is at LSTM in Liverpool, where substantive support and
coordination of review production takes place. The successful candidate will be
responsible for working with authorship teams in preparing and updating
Cochrane reviews and to appraise topics that may be suitable for a systematic
review through literature appraisal. This will be achieved by working with the
Liverpool team reporting to Professor Paul Garner (Co-ordinating Editor) and
working closely with global teams of authors and synthesis specialists.
It
is essential that you will are either a health professional with a Medical
Degree or other professional qualification, or a Masters in Public Health. We
need people that have demonstrated excellence in epidemiology and statistics
through thesis or publication, evidence of critical insight, able to write
clearly, work in teams, and develop effective working relationships within and
outside of the organisation. The post is full time and located in Liverpool. An
