Livelihood Specialist Job Vacancy at The Imbuto Foundation in Kigali Rwanda

The Imbuto Foundation is a non-profit-making organization in accordance with law NË 20/2000 of July 26th, 2000 governing non-profit-making organizations, with the purpose of empowering communities and building partnerships. The vision of the Imbuto Foundation is a nation of empowered and dignified Rwandans with a mission to support the development of a healthy educated and prosperous society
Through its projects, the Imbuto Foundation contributes to the fight against HIV/AIDS through prevention and care strategies; contributes to the improvement of life conditions for vulnerable groups; ensures the effective circulation of information within the organization, to partners, donors and the general population.
Imbuto Foundation projects are classified within two units, Health Unit and Socio-economic and Development Unit those projects reflect how Imbuto Foundation operates in line with Rwanda’s national development policies (Vision 2020, UN MDGs, EDPRS, NACC axis, Axis CNLS, OVC Policy, etc).

These units are supported by a Communication Unit and a Finance and Administration Unit which act as the supporting and crosscutting units to other units.

Job Overview and Responsibilities
With National livelihood specialist; an international Livelihood specialist will deliver following tasks:
• Prepare assessment report on existing livelihood projects in FP and SUFI project.
• Based on the assessment, draft comprehensive livelihood strategy with an appropriate plan of action to strengthen the existing livelihood projects for associations.
• Provide technical assistance to the socio-economic development unit and health unit’s livelihoods projects to scale up in other HCs and other projects, where necessary.
• Identify opportunities in the implementation of livelihood strategy (vocational training and microfinance, savings, loans, seeds, equipments etc).
• Advice on partnership development to the local livelihood resources and social infrastructure.
• Proactively seek new opportunities for effective partnership building and resource mobilization amongst donors.
• Maintain updated information on issues and policy changes that may affect livelihood opportunities in the country
• Document good practices at the end of one year.

Living Conditions
Fellows will live in a rented house in Kigali, Rwanda. Fellows will receive a stipend of $650/month and a completion award of $1500.
