KPMG Senior Internal Auditor Job Vacancy in Ghana

Job Description
An interesting opportunity exists for a Senior Internal Auditor to join one of West Africa’s leading suppliers of energy. The successful candidate will perform audits of all processes in the Company from planning, through
execution to reporting. The role holder will also champion compliance and risk management across the Company’s entire operational areas.

Work Location: Accra but will work across Ghana, Togo, Benin & Nigeria

Reports to: Chief Internal Auditor

Key Responsibilities include:
• § Developing Risks Based Integrated Assurance Plan for the Company
• § Conducting audits throughout the Company’s operational areas and acting as focal point for all audit, investigation, risks management and compliance activities
• § Providing independent assessments of the fitness for purpose and operation of business controls frameworks for the entities/processes reviewed, in accordance with the Company’s internal audit methodology
• § Maintaining liaison with external statutory auditors, shareholder auditors and other external regulatory agencies on the conduct of audit reports and reviews
• § Facilitating the assurance planning of business areas and the education of personnel in the audit function and developing an assurance plan for the Company
• § Coordinating Internal Control Committee and Board Audit Committee activities
• § Facilitating the transfer of learning and good practices across the Company and external parties with respect to risk management, compliance, investigations, audits and business controls

Educational and Experience:
• § A Bachelor’s degree (BSc) or HND in Engineering or a technical discipline in addition to a Master’s degree in Business Administration or a professional accounting/auditing qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent)
• § A minimum of seven years post-qualification experience with a reasonably broad base of technical systems/operations integrity and HSE business exposure especially in the oil and gas industry
• § Experience of reporting and providing assurances to corporate audit committees or senior management/board
• § Experience in planning and leading audits in or on large, international oil or gas industry organizations
• § Experience in the use of the Microsoft office suite and familiarity with the use and audit of financial systems preferably ERP, Maximo, Human Manager and SUN

Essential Skills:
• § Fully conversant with modern corporate risk assessment and mitigation techniques
• § Sound knowledge of industry developments both technically and otherwise
• § Ability to interface with all levels of management as well as board of directors
• § Ability to communicate clearly in English both in writing and verbally
• § Ability to communicate in French both in writing and verbally is desirable
• § Excellent interpersonal and team work skills in a diverse environment
