Eligibility:
-Open to residents of the following countries All Nationalities
-Applicants must:
– Commence on the full-time MPhil/PhD research degree during 2013/14;
-Submit the required application documentation by the stated funding deadline;
– Fulfil the relevant academic entry requirements set by King’s.
Please note that:
– Existing research degree students are not eligible to apply;
-These studentships cannot be held on a part-time basis;
– Students on taught masters or masters by research programmes are not
eligible;
-Students required to pay overseas tuition fees will be required to cover the
difference between the home/EU and overseas fee level from alternative sources.
-Applicable subjects Chinese studies, All Subjects that fall within the remit
of the King’s China Institute

scholarship.
Scholarship
Description:
The King’s China Institute PhD Studentship will cover tuition fees at home/EU
level and provide an annual stipend at the research council level for up to
three years subject to satisfactory progress. Please note that students who are
required to pay tuition fees at the overseas rate are eligible to apply but
will be required to cover the difference between the home/EU and international
fee level from alternative sources.

What does it
cover? Stipend
of £15,750 for 2013/14 plus Home/EU tuition fees, plus up to £1,000 a year in
research expenses
Selection
Criteria:
Selection will be based on:
i) Evidence and strength of academic qualifications gained (minimum entry
qualification is a 2i and/or a higher degree), and where applicable,
professional qualifications and/or relevant experience;
ii) Strength of the research proposal;
iii) Matching of the applicant’s interests with his/her supervisors or
potential supervisors amongst academic staff in the King’s China Institute or
associate fellows in other departments of King’s;
iv) Strength of the academic references .
