It
is against this back ground that Youth for Christ/Rwanda wishes to recruit
competent and qualified person to fill the following position:

Nursery
Assistant Teacher – Rwamagana, Full time (1 Position).

Job
summary:

To
insure that the learners (students) are provided with safe environment of
learning and perform properly in taught subjects. The environment should be
highly structured and highly relational in nature to enable students flourish
spiritually, academically, physically and emotionally.

Faith

Faith – Follower of Jesus
Christ and actively involved in a local church.

Behaviour
– Self-Disciplined
and teachable. Personal integrity in both professinal and private life.

Knowledge
and Skills Requirements:

Passion
to serve and work hard,
Secondary
Diploma (A2) in Education, Advanced Diploma (A1) or
University Degree (A0) in Early Childhood, preferred;
Proficient
with Microsoft Word and Excel;
Fluent
in English and/or French;
Able
to communicate with Kinyarwanda;
How
to motivate and mentor others;
Knowledge
of Rwanda’s education system and requirements.

Duties
and Responsibilities for a Nursery Assistant Teacher

Under
the supervision of the Campus Director, the Assistant Teacher has the following
responsibilities:

Replace
the class Teacher in his/her absence;
Check
on the children; accompany them any where they are. In all occasions,
he/she is responsible for the children under his/her control, setting for
them a good example;
Make
sure that the children are well dressed and their materials are well kept;
Make
sure that the children are clean and tidy outside and inside the
classroom;
Work
closely with the class teachers;
Make
sure that the medium of instruction (French and English languages) are
practiced by the children, the discipline is assured outside and inside
the classroom;
Mark
tests given by the class teachers or other school authorities to the
children;
Mark
the homework, notes and exercises books;
Keep
the spirit of initiative, innovation and hard work;
Help
class teachers to make teaching aids;
Respect
the time table of the classes;
Coordinate
sports, social and cultural activities;
Make
sure the school materials she/he is responsible for are well kept and
used;
Accomplish
other responsibilities given by his/her hierarchical authorities as
regards his/her job.
