Job description
JBFC is seeking a dynamic, fun-loving
individual who is passionate about children, social change, and is eager to
help change lives in Tanzania, East Africa. We operate a girls’ home, school,
healthcare clinic, and a farm in a rural village in Tanzania.

The Executive Assistant to the
Executive Directoris primarily responsible for aiding the Executive Director
with daily functions and communications. This is a challenging, fast-paced
environment who requires someone who can improvise, be very patient, and
multi-task well.
The EA will work alongside the staff,
students, and all visitors who come to the Kitongo campus. We are looking for
someone who can help the campus run smoothly, particularly during the high
visitor season, but who can also help the Executive Director ensure that all
responsibilities and goals are being met. It is a strenuous and stressful task,
with no day looking the same, but can be extremely fulfilling and rewarding.
This person must be flexible and frequently willing to put in overtime to
ensure that everything and everyone are running to standards.
The position will be based on JBFC’s
campus in Kitongo, Tanzania, and a minimum of a one-year commitment is
required.
Primary tasks include, but are not
limited to:
Executive Assistant to the Executive
Director
– Keep the Executive Director’s
schedule and also plan Executive Director’s meals with guests
– Create weekly progress reports (with
pictures) of any construction or projects and send them to the Executive
Director and Director of Development
– Assist the Executive Director with
emails and handle the JBFC office line
– Keep the Executive Director’s office
and files organized
– When the Executive Director is
absent, work to assist the Campus Director with his/her duties and send weekly
updates to the Executive Director
– Travel with the Executive Director on
periodic fundraising trips to assist with communication and organization
– Assist the Executive Director with
communications between the US and TZ offices, keeping track of ongoing projects
and reports needed, assisting with data collection, and assist with the JBFC
social media plan
– Create a weekly special project with
JBFC’s residential girls to maintain a mentoring relationship
– Assist the Executive Director with
any other tasks necessary
