India Vision Institute (IVI) announces 300 scholarships for Indian optometrists to attend IAPB’s 9th General Assembly. The Scholarships are sponsored by the Brien Holden Vision Institute, Australia and will be delivered by IVI.
IVI was formed to assist in developing human resources, infrastructure and technological advances required to enable India to provide quality vision care and excellent eye health to the overall population. The Institute, created by the Brien Holden Vision Institute and L V Prasad Eye Institute (India), builds on their many collaborative successes in research, education and public health for over twenty-five years.
Vinod Daniel, CEO of India Vision Institute said “IVI’s vision is to assist India in having the necessary human resources to deal with the issue of uncorrected refractive error impacting over a hundred million people and in the process develop a vibrant vision care industry for India.”
He added that “IVI will develop initiatives to assist Indian Optometric schools to work towards India having 110,000 trained vision care professionals to meet India’s needs.”
