Insurance Regulatory Authority Driver Job Vacancy in Uganda

The Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda mandated to regulate all the insurance businesses in Uganda has recently rebranded and would like to strengthen its regulatory objective by bringing aboard energetic, skilled and hardworking Ugandans to fill the following posts. All the posts will be on a five year renewable contract, subject to good performance.

Job Title: Driver
Reports to: HR/Administration Officer

Purpose of the job:
To drive the Authority’s vehicle, keep it clean and well maintained.

Major responsibilities:
• Drives the official vehicle assigned for official purposes
• Fuels the vehicle as instructed.
• Monitors the vehicle-service schedule and informs the HR/Administration Officer when a vehicle is due for service.
• Checks the vehicle every morning before driving.
• Ensures safety of himself, the passengers and the vehicle.
• Reports any accident to police and follows it up
• Ensures vehicles are kept clean, in sound mechanical/ running condition; reports any breakdown and take the vehicle for repair whenever necessary

Requirement:

Person Specifications:
1. At least A level Certificate with a pass in English.
2. A clean driver’s permit for the relevant class of vehicle
3. Knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics is added advantage
4 Driving experience of at least 3 years in a busy office.
5. Obedient and honest

General Person Specifications
1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
2. Good Computer literate.
3. Ability to take initiatives, think creativity and teamwork skills
