IMB Health Post Expansion Project Manager
Partners In Health/Inshuti Mu Buzima (PIH/IMB) is a
Harvard-affiliated international NGO that has partnered with the Government of
Rwanda to strengthen the health system and support poverty reduction
initiatives in rural Rwanda since 2005.
Position Title: IMB Health
Post Expansion Project Manager
Reports to: IMB’s
Clinical Director’s Office with dotted line technical supervision to the IMB
Chief Operating  
Contract duration: This position is a full-time, one-year contract position starting in
June 2014
Location: The Project
Manager will be based in rural areas and will require frequent travel to
different remote areas of Rwanda. Local and regional candidates are encouraged

Roles of the position
The Project Manager will oversee activities
associated with Partner In Health / Inshuti Mu Buzima (IMB) and Rwanda’s
Ministry of Health’s goals to expand and sustain community health post
services. The Project Manager should be creative and entrepreneurial, with a
strong understanding of community-based development.
The Project Manager will represent Partners In
Health to various stakeholders as the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of
Local Government ramp up efforts to expand rural health care access at the
community level. This work would occur in two phases:
  1. Coordinating national-level stakeholders to
    rapidly build and equip several health posts in areas of greatest need in
    Rwanda
  2. Support staff training and business
    development for community health post staff to ensure sustainable
    operations
Job Requirements:
  • University degree in business or similar
    field, Masters strongly preferred
  • At least 3 years working with development
    programs in economic transformation, entrepreneurship, or cooperative
    management
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex
    projects and managing budgets and resources. Project management credential
    strongly preferred.
  • Proven team player capable of working with a
    team of multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural colleagues
  • Experience in Rwanda or East Africa strongly
    preferred
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to
    manage and coordinate numerous activities and programmatic objectives
  • Excellent written and oral communication
    skills in English and Kinyarwanda are required
