_ *Job Description:
*_ ICF International is seeking a Transmission and Distribution (T&D)
Expert for ICF s Integrated Resource and Resiliency Planning (IRRP) project,
supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). This is
power sector improvement program based in Accra, Ghana. The T&D Expert will
work closely with the Chief of Party and the Senior Energy Expert, and will be
responsible for supporting T&D planning, analysis and related activities,
including generation interconnection feasibility studies, transmission and
distribution system reliability assessments, transmission and distribution
network capability assessments, transfer capability analysis, and renewable
generation integration studies. The successful candidate will be proficient in
the use of T&D modeling tools, and in conducting steady-state, transient
and short-circuit studies. The T&D expert will also support related
capacity building activities.

The successful
candidate will work closely with various Ghana electric sector stakeholders
(including, VRA, GRIDCo, ECG, and NEDCO) to meet program outcomes on time,
within scope, and within budget.

Qualifications

_Basic
Qualifications:_
Bachelor s degree in Engineering and a minimum GPA of 3.0 3 or more years of
experience in transmission and/or distribution system modeling and analysis
Proficiency with industry-standard power flow tools (e.g., PSLF, PSS/E,
PowerWorld, CYMDIST, etc.) Experience conducting transmission and distribution
system studies, including power flow and contingency analysis, stability
studies, and short-circuit studies. Demonstrated quantitative skills Knowledge
of transmission and/or distribution grids in Ghana and/or West Africa Advanced
knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly, MS Excel)

_Preferred
Skills/Experience:_
Master s degree in Electrical Engineering with a major in power systems
Advanced knowledge of power grids and transmission markets in Ghana and/or West
Africa Knowledge of Ghana and/or West Africa energy sector finance, economics
and policy Technical knowledge of micro grids and other isolated grids
Experience in production cost modeling, and/or economic power market analysis
experience (including internships) Knowledge of load forecasting is an
advantage Basic Knowledge of fuel and renewable markets in Ghana and/or West
Africa
