Job Title: Legal Adviser
Location: Lagos
Job Responsibilities
o Supervise company solicitors in their management of company litigation matters.
o Developing strategies and mechanisms for the avoidance of litigation.
o Facilitate out-of-court settlements.
o Attend court on behalf of company.
o Facilitate witnesses and documentation required for prosecution and defense of cases.
o Representing the company and liaising with company solicitors in all Law related matters.
o Maintaining and submitting a monthly litigation report.
o Supervising company solicitors in their management of company land holding interests.
o Investigation of title of property prior to negotiation.
o Participating in rent negotiations.
o Preparation of Leases and Assignments.
o Ensuring supporting documentation for perfection is received prior to payment.
o Facilitating expeditious perfection of company’s interest.
o Maintaining and submitting a monthly plot register.
o Compiling and submitting insurance report to the Head Office.
o Ensuring Insurers represent the company’s interest in court.
o Ensuring prompt payment of insurance claims.
o Providing general legal advice to regional management.
o Participating in regional administrative panels
o Participating in regional community and public relations matter.
o Maintaining and submitting a monthly report of corporate events.
o Any other matter as may be assigned by Manager
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Law (LLB)
Training Requirements:
Thorough knowledge of the working and practice of Property Law and Litigation.
