ageing is a key issue for the developing world. One in five people will be over 60 by 2050. Your challenge will be to raise awareness of global ageing and ensure older men and women have space in international media to tell their stories.
The Media Officer will assist with implementing the global media strategies which will promote understanding of the work of HelpAge International through mainstream broadcast, print and digital media as well as stakeholder and specialist media in liaison with international offices. You will also promote HelpAge International at events and meetings as well as contribute creative ideas and generate content for news stories and features.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience of working in communications/ media relations/ PR and of developing, delivering and evaluating communications projects. You will also have substantial experience of undertaking media interviews and a keen news sense and excellent knowledge of the external environment and the media landscape. Additional languages are also highly desirable for this role.
